Wealth Turtle & Golden Fortune Vault - 2027 Edition
Every year, we release exactly one new Wealth Turtle. For seven years, this small brass companion has ridden along in wallets, tote bags, and purses, as a quiet daily reminder to work hard and hold onto what you earn. This year marks our eighth release, and our biggest evolution yet: for the first time, the Wealth Turtle has a home of his own. Item currently available for pre-order. Item Ships August 31, 2026.
Why we built the Fortune Vault
We hear the same thing every year: the paycheck lands, and by the time rent, car payments, and bills clear, it's already gone. Attracting money is only half the job - the harder half is keeping it. So this year's set is built around a complete cycle: attract it, gather it, and protect it.
The Wealth Turtle
Cast from solid brass and finished with a hand-applied gold-sand texture, the Wealth Turtle never tarnishes and needs no polishing, it keeps its warm gold glow for years with zero maintenance. He bites onto a golden coin in his mouth, symbolizing wealth drawn in from every direction, and his shell is engraved with the character for "wealth" (財), a traditional emblem of a full, well-guarded fortune.
The Golden Sand Fortune Vault (New for 2027)
This isn't just a turtle shell or a keychain charm. It's a small vault designed to hold and house your Wealth Turtle, along with a pair of prosperity bells. Every surface is engraved with symbolism chosen for the Year of the Goat:
- A ram's-head medallion at the center to invite wealth and welcome the good fortune of the Goat year
- The character for "goat" (羊), a phonetic echo of "auspicious" (祥) in Chinese is a wish for smooth fortune and lasting blessings
- Five Emperor Coins encircling the vault, symbolizing wealth gathered from all directions
- Ingots and a gold mountain motif, for fortune that keeps building
- Rising cloud patterns, for wealth that climbs steadily upward
- Blooming peonies, the traditional symbol of prosperity and abundance
Two bells, two jobs
Tucked inside the vault alongside the Wealth Turtle are two small bells:
- The Golden Wealth Bell, meant to draw prosperity in from every direction
- The Silver Guardian Bell, meant to help hold onto what you've worked hard for
Give the vault a gentle shake and the bells chime together — a small daily ritual to open the new year with intention.
Wear it your way
Keep the Wealth Turtle loose in your wallet or bag as your daily companion, or house him inside the Fortune Vault with both bells and clip it to your bag, keys, or your car's rear-view mirror using the included short or long beaded chain.
Temple-blessed, the traditional way
Every Wealth Turtle & Fortune Vault set is carried through a formal incense-blessing ceremony at one of Taiwan's most prestigious and historic temples, Dajia Temple, following centuries-old ritual, the same practice that has made this an annual tradition our customers return to every year. Each set ships in a keepsake gift box.

Return Policy
Customers have 30 days from the date they received the item to return it. All returns must have an RMA (Return Merchandise Authorization) number associated with the return. Ready to Ship goods are products that are pre-made in small batch runs using popular leather colors and textures that we know we will sell out. These items are priced slightly lower so that customers can give us an opportunity impress them with our craftsmanship and leather quality.
Why are the Ready to Ship items cheaper than the Custom Made items?
We intentionally price them lower so that customers can give us a try and evaluate us on quality and craftsmanship
Can I personalize my name on this item?
Unfortunately no. These items are pre-made and no personalization or changes can be made on these items.
How soon can you ship?
The Ready-to-Ship items are available for shipment in 3-5 days. Shipping via USPS takes about 5-7 business days, while FedEx is 3-5 business days. We are able to offer overnight shipping or 2nd day air on request. Please contact us at cs@storyleather.com if you need your order expedited.
